History: Though born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to Charles and Eliza Greene, most of Rita’s childhood was spent travelling the globe with her parents. Up until she was thirteen she was home-schooled by her mother; after she was sent to a boarding school in Australia to socialise with other girls her age. It was around this time that she began questioning her sexual orientation, as she knew she had always been attracted to women but she’d never given it much consideration, and was admittedly frightened about the prospect of being unaccepted. Unfortunately, after she turned fourteen, Eliza fell ill with malaria and died, leaving Rita with just her father, who subsequently moved back home to be closer to his daughter and to raise her.
When she was fifteen she began going out with her first girlfriend in secret, as relationships were not allowed at her school and she herself was still uncomfortable with the idea of coming out (which lead to the end of her relationship, sadly). Rita lived with her father after that until she moved to Barcelona at seventeen, having completed her schooling early. She then spent four years in Barcelona, living with her Aunt Lydia and cousins while she studied ornithology. When she was eighteen she came out to her father and was relieved that he was accepting of her; in fact it brought the two closer together.
Upon turning twenty-one, Rita made the move to Portland, and has since worked three jobs to support herself. For the first few months she had few friends, until she met Simon Akimoto – a Japanese immigrant – and Delta Jones, a personal fitness trainer, both of whom she became good friends with. It was Simon, in fact, who introduced her to Pia MacKinnon – whom she had a short-lived relationship and engagement with. After Pia broke it off with her Rita had very little hopes of romance for a while and focused solely on her occupations and pets.
At twenty-three Rita met Malachy Dawkins and Anya Tandr, whom she became close friends with. She and Anya began dating a few months after they met, unannounced at first though their friends eventually worked it out.
Current Status: Currently Rita lives in Portland, works three jobs, and is in a long-distance relationship with Anya, who she feels very strongly about.
Extra: Rita owns many pets, and pet-sits for friends. She is also allergic to cats. Rita is of Romani and Spanish descent on her father's side. She speaks fluent Spanish.
